For several months, I've been thinking of getting a drone but not sure of what model to buy. Thanks to Casey Neistat, a successful YouTube vlogger, he convinced me to get a DJI model and the purchase was worth it!

I purchased the DJI Phantom 3 Advanced drone for around PHP 33,000 at Macys Store located at APM Mall here in Cebu. As someone who owns a travel agency, my team aims not just to create the perfect vacation plans and itineraries but also, more importantly, to share how we enjoy the sites and travels by capturing the moments and experiences clearly and as dramatically wonderful as possible, ideally taking panoramic and jaw dropping aerial shots for optimized views of each site.

For those who are new to drones, a Quadcopter has four small rotors instead of one like the traditional helicopter. Quadcopters gained popularity due to their small size, precision control, agility, power and stability. What really attracted us to this unit is that the camera is secured from unwanted shakings, perfect for stable shots for its 4,000 pictures capacity. It also is very durable and comes with a 1 year guarantee. The unit comes with a rechargeable battery and the transmission-receiver range is quite impressive. With a full charge, the unit though can be used for just an approximate 18 minutes of flight time only. The gadget can be quite bulky and any extra accessories may come in heavy (for the pocket). The drone bag itself costs around PHP 9,000. It is the cheapest we could find in Cebu. An additional battery costs around PHP 7,000. Nonetheless, it is the better ones in the market.

To know more about the product's highlights, please see below:

Vision positioning system (visual and ultrasonic sensors) GPS+GLONASS dual positioning system 2.7K video recording 12MP photo resolution 3-axis stabilization gimbal with remote control of the tilt angle (90° to +30°) 720p HD downlink (with up to 5KM range) Auto-takeoff through DJI Pilot App One key return to home (RTH) Failsafe auto return to home Auto flight logs Versatile mobile APP Intelligent flight modes (Follow Me, Point of Interest, Waypoints, Course Lock and Home Lock) Smart flight battery with charging level indicator About 18 minutes flight time

The product also comes with the following:

Transmitter with mobile device holder 16GB micro SD memory card 2 sets of self tightening propellers 4480 mAh flight battery Battery charger suitable for both, aircraft and transmitter USB data cable Propeller wrench 1 set of spare anti-vibration damping balls Spare anti-drop kit 1 set of spare landing gear pads 4 sets of Phantom stickers (4 different colors) Quick start guide (Chinese)

The DJI Phantom 3 Advanced drone is not the latest drone model that DJI released in 2016. Their latest one is the Mavic Pro which is really cool by the way. I was initially planning to get the Mavic but it has not reached the Philippines yet and it's so expensive (estimated cost is around PHP 70,000 - PHP 85,000 for the whole set - includes 2 rechargeable batteries and some extra propellers, accessories), so I decided to just get the Phantom 3 Advanced for its features and affordability.

Here are just some of the sample shots of my DJI P3 Advanced. Photos were taken from Coron and Boljoon.

Here is the first photo we took using our P3.
